December 2023
Friday 1st December – Magheracross Christmas Fair in the Archdale Hall, Ballinamallard following the switching on of the Village Christmas Lights with a special visit from Santa. There will be a charge of £1 for each child to receive a small gift. All the usual stalls will be there with tea/coffee available.
Saturday 2nd December – Fivemiletown Church Lads Brigade Antique/Craft Fair from 10am-3pm with proceeds to Santisma Trinidad School, Peru and CLB. Maybe you would like to purchase a unique Christmas gift or just call in for a cuppa.
Saturday 2nd December – Coffee Morning and Bake Sale will take place in Clogh Hall from 11.00am - 1.00pm. All welcome to help raise urgent funds for the Church Hall.
Saturday 2nd December – Winter Sale at Rockcorry School from 11am until 2pm. It will follow the same format as that of previous years; stalls, teas, car wash and sale of firewood. The schoolchildren will also have their stall and a visit from Santa is also expected.
Sunday 3rd December – Mullaghfad Carol Service at 3.00pm (weather permitting). The collection this year will be for Cancer Research UK.
Sunday 3rd December – Installation of The Venerable Paul Thompson as Archdeacon of Clogher will be held on Advent Sunday at 7.00pm. The format of the service will be a Diocesan Advent Carol Service.
Monday 4th December – County Monaghan Church of Ireland Children's Society Annual General Meeting will (DV) be held in the Market House, Newbliss at 3.00pm. Refreshments will be served by members of Newbliss Parish Church. Please do come along if you would like to know more about our work.
Thursday 7th December – Annual Community Carol Service at 7pm in St. Macartan's Cathedral, Clogher. Proceeds in aid of Cancer Focus. All welcome.
Friday 8th - Sunday 10th December 2023 – Winter Wonderland Christmas Tree Festival in Galloon Parish Church Viewing will begin on the Friday and the weekend will conclude with a carol service on the Sunday. More information will follow.
Friday 8th December – A Night of Carols in Drum Church, Co, Monaghan at 8pm with Lisnaskea Silver Band and guest choir Cantari Donagh. Everybody is very welcome to come and bring a friend to kick off the festive season.
Saturday 9th December – Christmas Fayre for St. Tighernach's Church, Clones in the Creighton Hotel Ballroom, Clones, from 9am-12.30pm. As usual, handmade decorative wreaths, cakes of all kinds, hot cups of tea/coffee, and many other treats will be waiting for you. Everyone is warmly welcome, and why not bring a friend along as well to enjoy a cuppa and a chat in the festive atmosphere. All proceeds are for St Tighernach's Parish funds, and we hope to see you there.
Sunday 10th December – Joint Carol Service in St. Finbarr's Church, Carrickmacross at 7pm. Service being recorded for broadcast on Northern Sound on Christmas Day.
Tuesday 12th December – Centenary Concert in St. Macartin's Cathedral, Enniskillen to celebrate the 100th anniversary of St. Anne's Church being designated a Cathedral. The concert will be presented by Mr Glenn Moore, organist and choirmaster, and the cathedral choir.
Tuesday 12th December – Christmas Coffee Morning in Ballybay Parish Hall from 11am-12.30pm. Mince pies will be served and free holly will be available. Please feel free to come along and bring your friends. All welcome!
Sunday 17th December – Carols by Candlelight in Inishmacsaint Parish Church at 7.30pm.
Thursday 21st December – Dean Kenneth Hall's Sit Out for Charity at the gates of St. Macartin's Cathedral, Enniskillen from 9am to 9pm. Charities supported include Air Ambulance NI, Bishops' Appeal and St Macartin's Outreach Fund.
Wednesday 27th December – Post Christmas Walk at 11am organised by St. Macartan's Cathedral, Clogher at Knockmany Forest Park. This is a good opportunity for all the family to walk off those Christmas treats. Everyone welcome, all donations towards St. Macartan's Cathedral repair.
Sunday 31st December – New Year's Eve Service at Colaghty Parish Church at 11.00pm with light refreshments served from 9.30pm in the parish hall. This will be a wonderful opportunity to share together as we welcome in 2024.
January 2024
Saturday 6th January – Epiphany Lecture in Rossorry Parish Church by Mr. Liam McCarthy of the Ulster Speleological Society and Caving Club.
February 2024
Thursday 8th February – Annual Tempo Table Quiz in Tempo Church Hall at 8pm. Everyone Welcome.
Saturday 24th February – Auction, Coffee Morning and Cake Sale organised by St. Macartan's Cathedral in Cathedral Hall, Main Street, Clogher. Please speak to the members of the Select Vestry if you have items you can donate to the auction. All proceeds to St. Macartan's Cathedral Repair Fund.
March 2024
Friday 8th March – Tempo Parish Variety Concert Tempo Church Hall at 8pm featuring Brookeborough Flute Band, Derryclavin Pipe Band, Lisbellaw Primary School Choir and Alastair Scott Ceilidh Band.
May 2024
Friday 10th - Saturday 11th May 2024 – 2024 General Synod will be held in Armagh with the third day's business to be conducted remotely on the evening of Tuesday 14th May and the evening of Thursday 16th May (if required).
December 2024
Friday 6th - Sunday 8th December 2024 – Christmas Tree Festival in Cooneen Parish Church celebrating their 150 year anniversary. Viewing will begin on the Friday and the weekend will conclude with a Carol Service on the Sunday. More information will follow.
